He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Coltrain; his sons, Bobby Coltrain and James Coltrain; his grandchildren, Lorra Beth Coltrain of Greenville, Kimberly Lynn Coltrain of Vanceboro and Jackson Hayes Coltrain of Greenville; and his siblings, Minnie Hoggard of Windsor, Linda Thomas of Greenville, Nita McNeese of Greenville, Roger Coltrain (Betty Jean) of Everetts, Wayne Coltrain (Yvonne) of Everetts and Larry Coltrain (Avis) of Bear Grass. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
