He was predeceased by: his parents, A. J. Mason and Dorothy Younce Mason; and his son-in-law Jamie Lunsford. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Griffin Mason; his children, Tabitha Lunsford of Wilkesboro and Timothy Mason (Chris) of Wilkesboro; his granddaughters, Maegan Lunsford of Wilkesboro and Tiffany Lunsford (Jon Mathis) of Ronda; and his siblings, Brenda Mason of Lenoir, Debbie Blevins (Dale) of Taylorsville, Kathy Reynolds (Tim) of Wilkesboro and David Mason (TJ) of Roaring River. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
