She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Edward and Blonnie Cook Clay; her husband James Brown Farthing of Boone, NC; and her siblings, James Edward Clay, Jr., William Earl Clay, Gail Clay, Kenneth Clay and Harry Clay.
She is survived by: her sons, Larry James Farthing (Linda) of Wilkesboro, NC and Harry Clay Farthing (Jane) of Greer, SC.; her grandchildren, Lisa Farthing Neuens (Stephen) of Wilkesboro, NC, Christopher John Farthing (Riette) of Concord, NC, Adam Clay Farthing (Sarah) of Tucker, GA, Mark Reynolds Farthing (Erin) of Lexington, SC and Benjamin Kent Farthing (Sara) of Delray Beach, FL.; her great grandchildren, Addison, Aiden, Ethan, Tyler Neuens, Elise, Aaron, Amelia Farthing and Blake Farthing; and her sister-in-law Helen Caudill Clay.
