He is survived by: his wife Mary Duffy Hay; his daughters, Lori Hay Slagle (Donnie) of Gray, TN and Julie Hay Nichols (Marty) of Wilkesboro; and his grandchildren, Sydney Nichols, Katie Nichols, Bo Nichols, Cassie Slagle, Luke Slagle and Colt Slagle.
