He was predeceased by: his siblings, Curt Wright, Roy Wright and Clyda Sheets; and his stepfather Van Triplett. He is survived by: his wife Thelma Mae Anderson Wright; and his sisters, Vivian Keen, Sue Durrette, Sharon Johnson, Sheila Horne, Vandi Montero and Cynthia Harrell.
