She was predeceased by: her parents, Fowler Garfield and Alter Martin Wilborn; her husband Jerry Dobson; her stepson John Thomas; and her siblings, Garfield Wilborn, Jr., JP Martin and Ruth Wilborn.

She is survived by: her children, Thomas Wilborn of Wilkesboro and Anita Turner (James Turner II) of Wilkesboro; her stepchildren, Elizabeth Carter (Tony) of Virginia, Leander Ferguson (Lucy) of Wilkesboro, Lincoln Kelly (Rita) of Wilkesboro and Judith Kelly of Wilkesboro; and her sisters, Laura Millsaps (Bishop E. Ervin) and Mary Cochran of Wilkesboro. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
