He was predeceased by: his father Douglas Franklin. He is survived by: his mother Brenda Hamby Hartley of Wilkesboro; his children, Emilee Hartley of Mooresville, Seth Hartley of Purlear and Aaron Hartley of Wilkesboro; his grandson Rome Presnell; and his siblings, Angie Walsh (Eddie) of Boomer and Jeff Hartley (Jennifer) of Boomer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
