He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Pilcher Steele of Wilkesboro; his children, Emily Lievens (Han) of Portland, OR, Chris Steele of Baltimore, MD, Michael Steele (Claudette) of London and Andy Steele (Joanna) of Purlear; his sister Emily Moore of High Point; and his grandchildren, Wesley Steele, Graham Steele, Layla Steele, Hudson Steele, Forrest Steele, River Steele, Daniel Lievens and Eleanor Lievens.
