In loving memory of John William Shew Sr. of Wilkesboro, North Carolina, who departed this world on November 14, 2024 at the age of 88. John leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Pritchard Shew and Frankie Anderson Shew; his wife Beverly Call Shew; his children, Abigail Shew and John William "Jay" Shew; and his siblings, Rosezell Williams, Blanche Shew and Hubert Shew.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Shew Hall (Harvey) of North Wilkesboro, Peggy Shew of Wilkesboro, Ray Shew (Terrie) of Wilkesboro and Gwyn Shew (Billie Jo) of North Wilkesboro; his grandchildren, Johnathan Shew, Tosha Walker, Adam Shew, Amanda Shew, Catherine Hall and Clifford Hall; and his siblings, Dorothy Perry, Christine Greene, Shirley Bowlin, Lucille Johnson, Della Williams, Haywood Shew, Major Shew, Gary Anderson and Larry Anderson. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home (270 Armory Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Chapel (270 Armory Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659). A burial will be held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at the Shew Ridge Mission Cemetery.
