He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Woodrow and Della Patrick Smith; and his brothers, Gurney Woodrow Smith and Wilson Burl Smith. He is survived by: his wife ImoJean Roark Smith; his siblings, Cecil Smith (Joyce) of Graham, Paul Smith of Burlington, Billy Smith (Christina) of McGrady, Melvin Smith (Mary) of Albemarle, Allen Smith of Granite Falls, Faye Walton (Charles) of West Jefferson and Marcella Trivette (David) of West Jefferson; and his siblings-in-law, Ivadean Smith (Steve) of West Jefferson, Rosa Smith of Hickory, Roy Roark of West Jefferson and Russell Roark of Laurel Springs. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
