He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Mary Etta Frazier Gamble; his wife Roseanna McCoy Gamble; and his siblings, Jim, David, Eddie Gamble and Vicki Ballard.

He is survived by: his daughters, Rachel Gamble and Beth McDaniel; and his siblings, Joan Money, Peggy Johnson, Judy Luber, Desirata Gamble, Teresa Gamble, Laura Watson, Anna Hane, John Gamble, Bobby Gamble and Joe Gamble. He is also survived by three grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
