It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lorene B. Messer of Whittier, North Carolina, who passed away on June 1, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Brooks and Sara Simonds; her husband Homer Reaves Messer; her son Bruce Messer; and her brother Claude Brooks.
She is survived by: her children, Roger Brooks (Bobbie) of Sylva, Brenda Setzer (Ronnie) of Sylva, Rita Eaves (Tommy), James Messer (Tamara) of Clyde, Joe Messer (Bonnie) of Cullowhee and Bob Messer (Missy) of Bryson City; her grandchild Claude Ray Messer of Whittier; and her sister Inez Ledford of Franklin. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
