He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Gibson and Emma Clampet Gibson; and his brother J. V. Gibson. He is survived by: his son Gerald Gibson of Ellijay; and his siblings, Ray Gibson (Judy) of Ellijay, James Gibson (Carolyn) of Ellijay, Marice Grizzle of Calhoun, Faye Lerch of Ellijay, Onita Harrison of Gainesville, Christine Walker (Gary) of Chatsworth, Emily Daniels of Chatsworth and Kathleen Weiss (Mike) of Calhoun. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
