He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Lawson Welker and Rosa Crenshaw Welker; his granddaughter Christina Lynn Welker; his brothers, Thomas "Fuzz" David Welker, Brant Welker, Jerry Welker and Steven "Pete" Welker; his brother-in-law Richard Cox; his sister Margaret Jo Welker; his parents-in-law, Gilbert Leroy Parks and Sadie Mae Parks; and his brothers-in-law, John Barry Kluttz and Jimmy Ray Parks.
He is survived by: his children, William "Willie" Robert Welker, Jr., Darryl Wayne Welker, Lyndy "Sis" Welker, Jimmy Harville and Hector "Cacho" Walter Alonzo; his grandchildren, Alison Thomas (Lindale), Holli Johnson (Ronnie), Brandon Seth Welker, Jeremy Kirklin Harville (Tabitha), Christopher William Dry, Samuel Comer, Julie Comer and Andy Comer; his great grandchildren, Dalaney Mattox, Cylee, William Douglas, Sawyer, Bailey Welker, Mercedes, Isador, Louie, Laven, Lindale, Jr., Dior and Myla Thomas; his great great grandchildren, Kingston, Reenesme Dry and Ariella Thomas; his pet Baumer; his close friends, Donnie Larimore, Pat Forrest and Tom Larson; and his siblings, Barbara, Mary Cox, Judith Nell Welker, Betty Knebel (George), Claudia Sue Myers (Ed), Angie Welker Reaves (David), James "Jim" Claude Welker (Debra), Jack Lawson Welker, Charles "Ike" Daniel Welker (Gail), John Eugene Welker (Betty) and Richard "Porky" Earl Welker (Sherrie). He is also survived by his wife, the love of his life of 66 years.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mt. Hope United Church of Christ (2400 Mt Hope Church Rd, Whitsett, NC 27377). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
