He was predeceased by: his parents, W. A. Branson and Ruby Friddle Branson; and his brother Jerry Branson. He is survived by: his wife Dona Thompson Branson; his mother-in-law Betty Thompson; his siblings-in-law, Pat Branson and Chuck Thompson (Kelly); his nephew Alan Branson (Rhonda) of Julian; his niece Beth Harris (Jeff) of Whitsett; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Alexandria Allen, Jonathan Branson, Lindsay Harris and Addison Harris; and his nieces and nephews, Lauren, Kelly and Derek.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Hope United Church of Christ, 2400 Mt. Hope Church Rd., Whitsett, NC 27377 or to a charity that benefits animals of the giver's choice.
