He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert M. Vermilya and Dolores Westerbeck Vermilya; and his wife Judith Massie Vermilya. He is survived by: his children, Steve Vermilya (Teri) of Kennesaw, GA, Mike Vermilya (Brenda) of Roxboro, NC, Kristi Johnson of Whitsett, NC and Barry Johnson (Terra) of Gibsonville, NC; his siblings, Robert Vermilya (Anne) of Chapel Hill, NC and Judy Vermilya of Montgomery, AL; and his nephew Tyler Vermilya. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
