It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie Stubbs (Whiteville, North Carolina), who passed away on February 24, 2019, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas A. Stubbs and Gertie Fowler Stubbs; his former wife Loretha Sheppard Stubbs; and his siblings, Earl Stubbs, Joe Stubbs and Alfred Stubbs.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Elizabeth Hood Stubbs; his daughters, Donna Stubbs Frye (LaMont) of West Columbia, SC and Teresa Stubbs McCurry (Norman) of West Columbia, SC; his stepson Warren Blainney Powell (Clo) of Statesboro, GA; and his brothers, James Stubbs (Susan) of Columbia, SC and Thomas W. Stubbs (Donna) of Merritt Island, FL. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
