He is survived by: his wife Teresa Kay Clifton Hayes; his children, Detra Edwards (Sam) of Chadbourn, Karen Collins (Nick) of Evergreen and Nick Hayes (Kathryn) of Whiteville; his siblings, Richard Allen Hayes of Georgetown, Mary Kesner (Ben) of New Mexico, Gladys Hayes of Whiteville, Mark Hayes (Donna) of Whiteville, Jenny Rupert (Mark) of Douglasville, GA, Annette Treutlein (Dennis) of Whiteville, Lisa Metts (Kevin) of St. Petersburg, FL and Matthew Hayes (Christine) of San Jose, CA; his grandchildren, Timothy Leigh (Cierra), Alex Edwards (Randa), Cameron Collins, Riley Collins and Isabelle Edwards; and his great grandchildren, Aleah Leigh, Carter Leigh, Abigail Edwards, Tesley Leigh, Corbin Collins and Levi Edwards.
