She was predeceased by: her parents, Earlie Major Smith and Ruth Leonard Smith; her husband Winston Tyree; and her siblings, John Smith, Howard Smith and Mary Lou Smith.
She is survived by: her son Gary Tyree of Whiteville; her siblings, Brenda Gail Ward of Chadbourn, Joyce Stanley of Clarendon, Retha Belle Walker of Whiteville and Alford Smith of Williams Township; and her grandchildren, John William Tyree, Buck Smith Tyree, Erica Lynn Gore, Alicia Fowler, Timothy Fowler, James Waylon Hinson, Andy Waggle, C. J. Watts, Joseph Watts and Amanda Waggle.
