He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Ward and Feetie Bell Watts; and his siblings, Floyd Ward, Gilbert Ward, Lloyd Ward, Vera Herring and Clara Pierce.
He is survived by: his wife Lila Ruth Ward of Whiteville; his sons, Jeffrey Ward (Stacey) of Massachusetts and Dale Ward (Jill) of Oak Island; his grandchildren, Max Ward, Abel Pol, Joshua Carroll (Brittany), Nicholas Fields (Amanda), John Fields (April), Lorna Ward, Carly Ward, Annabel Pol, Wesli Hull, Jessica Strickland (Colby) and Brinkley Carroll; and his aunt Ruth Lee of Whiteville, NC.. He is also survived by six great grandchildren, several beloved nieces and nephews.
