It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sue Stephens Gore of Whiteville, North Carolina, born in Columbus, North Carolina, who passed away on October 24, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bud Stephens and Lyda Benton Stephens; her husband Joseph Paul Gore, Sr.; and her siblings, Luke Stephens, Brunson Stephens, Jack Stephens, Helen Cunningham and Leona Martin.
She is survived by: her children, April Susan Gore Smith of Wilmington, NC and Joseph Paul Gore, Jr. of Whiteville, NC; her grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Grant Smith and Marly Gore; her sister Anne Stephens Gore of Whiteville, NC; her nephews, Jeff Cunningham, Jimmy Williamson of Whiteville, NC, Ludon Stephens and Michael Floyd Stephens of Chadbourn, NC; and her friend Willis Nealy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
