We are sad to announce that on July 27, 2021, at the age of 96, Ruth Owens Lane of Whiteville, North Carolina, born in Columbus, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Major Owens and Nora Duncan Owens; her husband G. P. Lane; her daughter Judy Lane Gowen; and her brother Mark Owens.
She is survived by: her daughter Donnie Lane Hooks Formyduval of Whiteville; her sisters, Doris Huestess of Wilmington, Betty Purser of Raleigh, Joyce Crawford of Wilmington, Lillian Babson of Wilmington, Mildred Walter of Fort Mills, SC and Anne Rotruck of Raleigh; her grandsons, John Hooks (Karen) of Wilmington and Phillip Hooks (Kristen); and her great grandchildren, Kathryn Hooks of Wilmington and Drake Hooks of Wilmington.
