He was predeceased by: his son James M. Smith; and his sister Mildred Teasley. He is survived by: his daughters, Millie Granda of Whiteville, NC and Lola Elaine Speight (Randy) of Whiteville; his grandchildren, Gil Granda, Ryan Granda, Jared Speight (Kristina), Brett Speight (Kristy), Lacey Speight Borowiec (Jason) and Kenneth James Smith; and his great grandchildren, Gadisson, Colton, Camden, Jocelyn Jade, Carter Jared, Elisha and Maddox.
