He is survived by: his wife Brenda Simmons Thompson of Whiteville; his daughter Rhonda Gail Thompson (Michael) of Whiteville; his sister Sarah Ward of Whiteville; and his close friend Carter Lee. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
