It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nathaniel Wesley Jr. of Whiteville, North Carolina, born in Jacksonville, Florida, who passed away on September 2, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathaniel Wesley, Sr. and Victoria Rodgers Wesley. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Shipman Wesley; his children, Nathaniel R. Wesley III (Latasha) of Capitol Heights, MD, Stanley Bernard Phifer (Roxanne) of Tampa, FL and Crystal Burrell-Braddy of Whiteville, NC; his siblings, Gloria Y. Wesley, Annette Simmons (Joseph), Brenda Henderson (Julius), Joann, Patricia Wesley of Jacksonville, FL, Linda Bussey (Tyrone) of Columbia, SC, Ruben D. Jackson (Laura) of Atlanta, GA, George, Joseph Wesley of Jacksonville, FL and Bernard Wesley (Darcy) of Alexandria, LA.; and his grandchildren, Nathaniel IV, Xavier Wesley, Shala Kelly, Steve Burrell and Aaron Phifer. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
