She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Westbrook and Christine Lee Westbrook; her husband Sgt. John Williams Mathews; and her siblings, Sara Harris, Joseph Westbrook, Jr., Charles Westbrook, Stanley Westbrook and Dennis Westbrook.

She is survived by: her children, Thomas William Mathews (Belinda) of Clarendon and Sharon Renee Mathews of Tuscon, AZ; her grandchildren, Akin Keith Ezzell and Lilly Brooke Ezzell; and her brothers, Robert Westbrook (Shirlean) of Hope Mills and James Westbrook (Ann) of Garland.
