It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Margaret Hooks (Whiteville, North Carolina), who passed away on April 14, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Albert Lacey Turner (Mary Lewis Turner) of Chadbourn and D. Jack Hooks, Sr. of Whiteville; her children, D. Jack Hooks, Jr. (Emily) of Whiteville, Edward Turner Hooks (Cynthia) of Mount Pleasant, S. C., Patti Hooks Lee (Eli) of Wilmington and Timothy Marcus Hooks (Dori) of Mount Pleasant, S. C.; her grandchildren, Katherine Lacey Hooks, John Alexander Hooks (Catherine), Haven Lee Heibein, Marcus Eli Lee, Jackson Turner Hooks, Graham Robertson Hooks and Timothy Campbell Hooks; her stepgranddaughter Misty Soles Nunnery of Wilmington, N. C.; and her great grandchild Vivienne Heibein.
Because of the current Covid-19 restrictions, a private graveside service with immediate family members only in attendance will be held at Columbus Memorial Park Cemetery with the Reverend Joseph Washburn of First Presbyterian Church presiding on Friday, April 17, 2020 at 11:00 a. m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that memorial gifts be made to her church family at First Baptist, or to Lower Cape Fear Lifecare.
