He was loved and cherished by many people including: his sister Janice G. Strauss; his wife JoAnn Britt Garrell; his children, Kimberly G. Staley (Bobby) of Greensboro, Melissa D. Fowler (Jeff) of Wilmington, Delane Garrell of Greensboro and Lisa Ward Cain (Phillip) of Myrtle Beach; and his siblings, Patricia "Pat" Garrell of Lake Waccamaw and Linda Chenier of Supply. He was also cherished by 7 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren.
