She was predeceased by: her parents, Sidney K. Smith and Lura Babson Smith Simmons. She is survived by: her husband Lawrence Hubert Thompson; her children, John L. Thompson (Angela) of Whiteville and Christy Lane Skidmore (Maury Reaves) of Whiteville; her grandchildren, Savannah Lane, Laura Blair Thompson, Garrett Thompson and Mason Thompson; her siblings, Greg Simmons (Vicky) of Leland and Joyce S. Thomas (Hank); and her friend Freddy Gibbs.
