He is survived by: his wife Martha Westbrook Mathews; his children, Thomas William Mathews (Belinda) of Clarendon and Sharon Renee Mathews of Tuscon, AZ; and his grandchildren, Akin Keith Ezzell and Lillian Brooke Ezzell.
