He was predeceased by: his son Brandon Spivey; his parents, Jiley Spivey and Bessie Phipps Long; and his brother Johnny Spivey. He is survived by: his wife Rose Smith Spivey; his daughter Jenny Spivey Beattie (John) of Whiteville; his grandchildren, Amanda Spivey, Trey Beattie, Connor Spivey, Katie Beattie and Logan Spivey; his siblings, Eugene Spivey of Whiteville, David Spivey (Brenda) of Harrells, Rachel High (Jerry) and Doris McKeithan (Jimmy) of Whiteville; and his siblings-in-law, Mitchell Smith (Sherry) and Katrinka Smith (Chee-Chee). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
