It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Vander Baker Jr. of Whiteville, North Carolina, who passed away on November 1, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father James Vander Baker, Sr.; and his grandson Charles Edward Collier, IV. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Elizabeth Register Baker; his children, James Baker of Whiteville, Charles Edward Collier, III (Marilyn) of Sunset Harbor, NC, Tammy Baker of Whiteville, NC and Lisa Collier Clewis (Matthew) of Whiteville, NC; and his grandchildren, Alicialyn Dawn Collier, Samantha Collier, Kevin Clewis, David Clewis and Mazie Elizabeth Canady. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
