He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Bass and Sula Thompson; and his sister Eunice Bass Kinlaw. He is survived by: his wife Nell Hooks Bass of Whiteville; his children, Gloria Jean Bass Morgan (Dwight) of Roxboro, NC and Hubert Ralph Bass, Jr. (Gwen) of Whiteville; and his grandchildren, Angela Brazzeal (Chris), Tammie McDonald (Dana), Heather Schoger (Jason), Stephanie Kingston (Christopher), Matthew Morgan (Michelle), Hubert Ralph Bass, III (Elisha) and Christopher Chad Bass. He is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
