He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry and Estelle Long Ward; and his siblings, Rosie Long (Dewey), Mattie Etheridge (Roscoe), Vada Russ, Lucille Godwin (Cecil), Buris Ward (Mary), Lewis Ward and Elbert Ward (Vera Mae).
He is survived by: his wife Alice Long Ward; his daughters, Ruby Ezzell (Timmy) of Whiteville and Melissa Ward of Whiteville; and his siblings, Jessie Ward (Alice Faye) of Leland, Sena Mae Etheridge (Woody) of Whiteville, Maxine Brock (Jackie) of Whiteville, Marcell Etheridge of Whiteville and Ilene Phipps (Gene) of Fayetteville.
