It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Franklin Walters of Whiteville, North Carolina, who passed away on August 5, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Stutts Olin Walters and Margret Nance Walters; and his son Jay Franklin. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Absher Walters; his daughters, Jan Walters Hardee (Andy) of Tabor City and Beth Walters Harper (Willis) of Whiteville; his grandchildren, Colby, Collin, Leah Hooks of Whiteville, Ashley Hardee Fleenor (Collin) of Conway, SC, Emily Harper Tomasik (Tyler), Will, Morgan and Banks Harper; and his sister Phyllis Walters Mork (Dorlan) of Charlotte.
Due to COVID restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held to include all of the students, parents & friends of our beloved Coach at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Coach's memory to the, Coach Walters Memorial Fund at the State Employees Credit Union or by mail, State Employees Credit Union, 275 Flowers Pridgen Dr., Whiteville, NC 28472.
