She was predeceased by: her parents, James Gillad Smith and Mittie Lee Dew Smith; and her husband Robert "Bob" Howard Hinson. She is survived by: her daughter Deborah Ann Hinson High; her siblings, Marie Smith Thompson and J. G. Smith; and her children, Karen H. McPherson (J. B.) of Chadbourn, James "Jimmy" Howard Hinson (Lori) of Wake Forest and Heath Bryan Hinson (Kirsten) of Long Island. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
