He is survived by: his wife Barbara Babson Evans; his children, Greg Smith of Whiteville, Derrick Smith (Cheryl) of Whiteville and Debra Lynn Sellers of Whiteville; his grandchildren, Dustin Smith, Shonte Nance, Holly Crowningshield, Adrian Day and Matthew Page; his great grandchildren, Madison Nance, Bailey Nance, Hayden Nance, Layton Ray, Kassen Ray, Mia Crowningshield and Silas Page; his great great grandchild Waylon Ray; his nieces, Rhonda Evans Wallace and LaDeane Halls; and his nephew Rodney Evans.
