We are sad to announce that on November 27, 2024 we had to say goodbye to Catherine L. Castillo (Whiteville, North Carolina), born in Imperial Beach, California. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As we bid Catherine farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Catherine is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She is survived by: her husband John Castillo; her children, Haley Hufton (Jesse) of Leland and Shane Castillo of Wilmington; and her siblings, Bessie Blum (Jim) of Lakeland, TN and Tom Abramson (Carol) of Imperial Beach, CA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McKenzie Mortuary (112 Jefferson St, Whiteville, NC 28472). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (302 N Lee St, Whiteville, NC 28472).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472, in Catherine's memory, as she was passionate about giving back and helping others.
