She is survived by: her parent Alford Smith; her husband Jack Marshall Thompkins; her children, Gerald Ward (Jeanna) of Alabama, Colen Ward of Whiteville and Melanie Hinson (Chris) of Whiteville; her siblings, Jason Smith, Nancy Duncan and Deborah Hinson (Timmy); and her grandchildren, Bradlee Ward, Christopher Hinson, Brandon Hinson and Ember Ward.
