He was predeceased by: his parents, Rockfellow Benton and Ethel Edwards Benton; his granddaughter Lindsay Benton; and his siblings, Linda Lanier, Dowe Benton and Betty Lanier.
He is survived by: his fiancée Linda Worrell of Whiteville; his sons, Brian Benton (Julie) of Sunset Beach and Brad Benton (Kelli) of Leland; his grandchildren, Andrew Benton (Lauren), Aaron Benton (Mikayla), Mary Heronemus (Matt) and Jarrett Benton; and his great grandchildren, Emma and Kylie. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
