He was predeceased by: his parents, Moses Andrew Hastings and Goldie Ann Walker Hastings; and his siblings, Hugh Lee Hastings, Paul Hastings, Earl "Shorty" Hastings, Nelson Hastings and Nancy Jane Cook.
He is survived by: his wife Lavada Warlick Hastings; his children, Dennis Hastings (Kay) of Shelby, Patricia Dedmon (Alton) of Forest City and Donna Silver (Jerry) of Polkville; his siblings, Dale Hastings of Vale, Mozelle Lingerfelt of Belmont, Merle Brooks of New London, Dorothy Ann Randall of Valdese and Roberta Penland (Eloise Campbell) of Icard; his grandchildren, Tammy Cline of Shelby, Stephanie Hogston of Kings Mountain, Chad Hastings of Shelby, Jason Hastings of Shelby, Adam Dedmon of Forest City and Danielle Garcia of Shelby; his great grandchildren, Clay Hastings, Dylan Hastings, Hunter Nix, Savannah Brigman, Conner Moorhead, Hannah Hogston, Grant Moorhead, Landon Hogston, Bailee Moorhead, Addisyn Dedmon, Phoenix Garcia, Titus Hastings, Dakota Hastings and Kellan Dedmon; and his great great grandchildren, Finn Nix and Violet Nix.
