He was predeceased by: his parent Samuel Coleman Dye; his former wife Joyce Dixon Dye; and his brothers, Hobart Dye and Phillip Dye. He is survived by: his parent Emma Mae Goforth Dye; his wife Norma Atkinson Dye; his sons, Barney Dye (Debbie) of Kings Mtn and Rex Dye (Tonya); his grandchildren, Lauren West (Michael), Hannah Durrence (Ryan), Samuel Dye (Abigail), Madison Dye of Sarah Dye, Aurian West, Haven West and Bennett West; his stepchildren, Lee Atkinson (Terry), Todd Atkinson (Leslie) and Julie Warner (Rick); and his stepgrandchildren, Jeremy, Nathaniel Atkinson, Seth (Madison), Caleb Warner, Gavin Shepherd and Colby Shepherd.
