He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dixon McDaniel and Annie Dixon McDaniel; his wife Orangel Parrish McDaniel; his son Tim McDaniel; and his siblings, Glenn, Clyde, Naaman, Charles, William "Bill", Gerald, Gene Brevard McDaniel, Josephine Sellers, Sarah Stroupe, Helen Roberts, Ruth Sanders and Martha Ann Wright.
He is survived by: his children, Phillip McDaniel of Kings Mountain, NC and Cindy Smith of Dallas, NC.; his grandchildren, Chad McDaniel (Courtney), Adam McDaniel (Christina), Lisa Gee (Adam), Ashley Marshall (Chris), Karen Smith (Lee) and Travis McDaniel (Alyssa); his great grandchildren, Adrianna, Anna, Lily, Ronan, Evelyn, Callan, Preston, Peyton, Easton and Lucy; and his brother Durwood "Dean" McDaniel.
