With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Merle Turner Barrett in White Oak, North Carolina, born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on October 31, 2020 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Horace McNeely and Naomi Jane Sigmon McNeely; her former husband Grady Ralph Turner; her husband Ronnie Barrett; her children, Grady Myran Turner, Daniel Steve Turner and Deborah Turner Towery; and her siblings, W. E. McNeely, Forest McNeely and Vertie Price.
She is survived by: her children, Eric Scott Turner of Lawndale, Linda T. Cook of Shelby and Ann T. Kendrick (Robert) of Shelby; her sister Betty Jones of Lincolnton; and her grandchildren, Tanya Lundy of Shelby, Jonie Costner of Morganton, Kelly Towery of Morganton and Rob Kendrick of Shelby.
