She was predeceased by: her parents, F. G. Britt and Eula Mew Britt; her husband Herbert Walter Smouther; her brother Clemson Edward Britt; and her son-in-law Willliam Andrew Powell, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Powell, Dawn Caldwell (John), Michelle Garrison, Douglas (Kim) and Michael Fortenberry; her grandchildren, Drew Powell (Jodi), Katie Powell Belflower (Jeff), Tripp Keisler (Chrissy), Britt Keisler (Jordan), Michael Garrison, Charlie Burrus, Sam Burrus (Elena) and Noah Fortenberry; and her great grandchildren, Lila, Luke Powell, Anna-Lea, Abby, Adon Keisler, Henry Belflower and Vaia Burrus.
