He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wayne McMurry and Laura Essie Shuford McMurry; and his sisters, Mary Ella Elliott, Thelma Beatrice Jenkins and Margaret McMurry.
He is survived by: his wife Christine Willis McMurry; his children, James Anders McMurry, Jr. and Teresa Gettys (Roger) of Polkville; his grandsons, Christopher D. Gettys of Shelby, Sean W. Gettys (Skye) of Polkville, Jason McMurry of Shelby and Andy McMurry (Joni) of Polkville; and his great grandchildren, Morgan Miller, Reese Gettys, Connor McMurry Davis, Tenley Gettys, Colton McMurry and Thea Gettys.
