He is survived by: his children, Duane Alexander (Deborah) and Elaine Alexander Barrow (Wayne); his stepchildren, Vivian Waddell Hewitt (Rodney) and Nelson Waddell (Faye); his granddaughters, Kristi Garris (Adam) and Sara Newman (Brad); his stepgrandchildren, Chris Barrow (April), Heather Hewitt Davis of Burlington, NC, Tanner Hewitt of Elon, NC and Grace Lowe; his great grandchildren, Nathan, Jonah, Addison, Ian, Claire, Ethan and Logan; and his siblings, Clayborne Alexander (Shirley), Than Alexander of Kent, OH and Gailya Dillon of Ballard, WVA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
