He was predeceased by: his parents, Burlin Jewell and Esther Jewell; and his sister Joyce Morse. He is survived by: his wife Lara Black Jewell; his children, Lesley Jewell of Oak Island, NC, Gretchen Jewell (Patrick Ferries) of Summerfield, NC and Patrick Jewell (Heather) of Sand Springs, OK; his brother-in-law Bob Morse of DuBois, PA; and his grandchildren, Hadley, Ace, Aubry, Presley and Rhett.
