He was predeceased by: his sister Pam Lona. He is survived by: his wife Belen H. Salimbao Gast; his children, Ai Michelle Ybarrondo and Thomas Michael Gast; his stepson John Joseph Squires; and his sisters, Eloda McCarthy and Sandy Gill.
