He was predeceased by: his parents, John Heath Rice and Prestell Gillis Rice. He is survived by: his wife Carol Rawl Rice; his children, Jarriet Rice, Jr. of Whispering Pines and Angela Rice Jones (Michael) of Pinehurst; his grandchildren, Kathryn Oakley (Brandon) of Carthage and Michael Jones, Jr. (Aryeannah) of Carthage; and his sisters, Linda Hamann of Myrtle Beach, SC, Di'Anne Lewis of Raleigh and Elaine Graves (James) of Carthage. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
